Applications close 23 April for Support at Home Thin Markets grant
Applications for the Support at Home Thin Markets grant, to ensure availability of aged care services in rural and remote Australia, and for people with diverse backgrounds and life experiences, close on 23 April. Eligible Home Care Package (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) providers operating in rural, remote and/or specialised markets can apply for the grant, which provides additional funding to support eligible providers’ financial viability while setting reasonable prices for Support at Home participants.
The Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care advise that applications can only be accepted from existing HCP or STRC providers who have care recipients in Modified Monash areas 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, and/or currently hold a valid Specialisation Verification for aged care services (excluding Specialisation Verification for people who live in rural or remote areas) or have submitted an application for Specialisation Verification that is pending approval.
A funding loading can be claimed by providers for each care recipient whose services are delivered in MM3–7 and/or for each care recipient whose needs align with a diverse group for which the provider has, or has applied for, Specialisation Verification (more information on Specialisation Verification and how to apply is available here, via the Department of Health and Aged Care website).
Applications are to be made here, via GrantConnect, before 2 pm Canberra time, 23 April.
More information about eligibility criteria and how to apply can be found here, in the Grant Opportunity Guidelines. If you have questions, please email Grant.ATM@health.gov.au, quoting the grant opportunity number (GO7600).
