Police HomeCare Services launched
A new homecare service will provide disability and aged care to members of the policing community in South Australia.
The Police Association of South Australia selected Lifestyle Plus Group as its partner to operate Police HomeCare Services, which was recently officially launched in Adelaide by Bill Shorten, Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It will provide care services including domestic support, personal care, community access, behavioural support, allied health services and complex care.
It is a registered provider under both the NDIS and My Aged Care, and will also provide pathways into future employment for police officers leaving the police service and wanting to continue working and serving the community. The immediate priority will be to provide services to Police Association of South Australia members and their families before expanding to provide services to the broader community.
Lifestyle Plus Group Managing Director Wayne Boden said Police HomeCare Services has been established to disrupt some unacceptable norms that currently exist in the care services sector, as well as work towards a standard where transparency, dignity and integrity in care are the highest priority.
“Demand for homecare services in the disability and aged care sectors will continue to grow. This will require high standards to be maintained across the care industry and new people to be attracted to work in the sector,” Boden said.
“We aim to build on the trust that’s inherent in the police name to deliver high-quality care services within the community.”
