Free Governing for Reform in Aged Care Program
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, in partnership with KPMG, is inviting members of a governing body or leaders in the aged-care sector to participate in its Governing for Reform in Aged Care Program.
The free online program supports leaders to enhance their organisation’s corporate and clinical governance and lift its overall performance. It combines learning through webinars, facilitated workshops, learning modules and resources.
All members of governing bodies and executives of Australian Government-funded residential aged care and home care providers are eligible to participate in the program and can enrol via the Governing for Reform in Aged Care Program website.
The first phase of the Program is the Fundamentals of Governing for Reform. This series of learning activities has been designed to socialise participants with the reform setting and provide practical and immediate uplift through social and/or individual learning. This will include:
- a diagnostic tool to help governing bodies and executives increase their awareness of what constitutes effective governance within the aged-care sector, and the skills and capabilities required;
- learning cohort-based workshops to examine barriers to governing for reform;
- a centralised online learning platform housing four core learning modules focused on the critical capabilities required by contemporary governing bodies and executives;
- the Governing for Reform Toolkit, including information about better practice governance within aged care, case study examples and tools;
- webinars addressing issues that emerge throughout the program and focused on proficiency in areas of strength;
- curated listening covering topical areas with broad sector appeal, eg, technology advances in aged care, leading through reform and change, and data-driven insights.
